The 2017 Cinsault is a beautiful ruby red, great for summer sippin, with enough body to make it through the winter. This special varietal is often used for blending; but we feel it is strong enough to stand on its own. Serve slightly chilled or at room temperature depending on the weather.
This well-balanced red has low tannins and higher acidity. This latest vintage starts with a nose of roses and cranberries, then delivers dark chocolate, vanilla and white pepper on the palate.
The fruit for this gorgeous wine comes from the Rolleri Vineyard in Angels Camp, CA.
Our Cinsaut is crushed and left to open-top ferment for a short time before being racked into oak barrels where it matures for ~18 months prior to bottling.
This is our 5th successive vintage of Cinsaut as a single varietal. Typically used as a blending grape, we found it so enticing on its own back in 2013 that we decided to bottle it as such.
Food Pairing Notes
Cinsaut is a very flexible wine and pairs nicely with roasted or grilled meats, pizza, or sharp cheddar cheese and a nice baguette.
