The 2017 Zinfandel follows in the footsteps of our always-popular previous vintages. The luscious wine is fruity without being sweet making it a Wine Club member favorite. A hint of berries combined with a little spice and vanilla round out the palette of the 2017 vintage. Aged in American and French Oak barrels for 18 months, this wine is lovely now and will continue to reward those who have the patience to lay it down for a year or two.

The 2017 Zinfandel explodes with candied fruitiness which is followed by something lightly spicy, like white pepper. You might notice a whiff of toasty vanilla thanks to our barreling. The moderate tannins give this wine a smooth and jammy mouthfeel which we think is a very good thing. Tell us what you think?
From the Calaveras County Dragone Ranch vineyard, this Zinfandel harkens back to previous vintages. The fruit, a Dupratt clone, is planted on extremely steep, rocky soil making it work to thrive - which is does!
We age our Zinfandel in a combination of American and French Oak barrels for 18 months giving it a lovely toasty finish. Although lighter in color than a Cabernet Sauvignon, its moderate tannins and slightly higher acidity give it a bolder feel.
Food Pairing Notes
The fruitiness of Zinfandel pairs perfectly with sweet-savory dishes like curry, BBQ or smoked baby-back ribs.

I love a good Zin and this one is right up there with the "big" wine makers. Very smooth, robust and over all one of my favorites

We love this full bodied Zinfandel! It is our absolute favorite with ribs!
