Our 2017 Barbera is produced with fruit from Rancho Victoria in Amador County. Barbera is one of the few varietals we source from outside of Calaveras County, but it's still very local being less than 50 miles away from Murphys. This vintage is complex with layered aromas of raspberry and cherry and flavors or blackberry with a nice lightly spiced finish. Aging in French oak barrels adds increased complexity and hints of vanilla.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Luscious and juicy are the keywords for this vintage. The color is somewhere between ruby and garnet. Take a moment to give this wine a good swirl before enjoying your first sip. The bright cherry and berry flavors one expects from a Barbera do not disappoint. Savor the finish and see if you detect hints of dried herbs or maybe a bit of black pepper. The slightly higher acidity make this wine lip-smacking good.
Vineyard Notes
Fruit for this vintage comes to us from the Rancho Victoria Vineyards in Amador County.
Winemaker Notes
Having aged in the bottle for a few years, this wine is ready to be enjoyed, or can be cellared for a couple of years for further mellowing.
Food Pairing Notes
Grilled, or roasted anything is a good bet here - try Chicken and Chimichurri, or Grilled veggies with polenta and parmesan. Any of your favorite herb focused recipes will be a nice compliment to the natural flavor profile of this wine. Break out the sage, oregano, cinnamon, white pepper, and nutmeg and get to grillin'!
